Dr. Peter DeWitt

Peter DeWitt (Ed.D.) is a former school principal in Upstate, NY, and he is now a Visible Learning trainer. Before becoming a principal he taught elementary school for eleven years. His syndicated blog Finding Common Ground is published by Education Week and he is a freelance writer for Vanguard Magazine.

Peter has trained under Jim Knight (Kansas Coaching Project) and has been instrumental in promoting and speaking on strategies related to Instructional Coaching and Coaching for Leaders.

His articles have appeared in education journals at the state, national and international level. He has written for Principal Magazine, Education Week, Educational Leadership, The Huffington Post, ASCD Whole Child, Connected Principals, Teaching Tolerance, Smartblogs, PBS and ASCD Express. He has been interviewed by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the National Education Association (NEA), the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), PBS and ABCnews.com.


Dr. Kristen Lewald

Dr. Kristen Lewald is employed by Lancaster-Lebanon IU13. She has been the Statewide Project Director for the Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS), under the leadership of the Pennsylvania Department of Education since 2002. Kristen is responsible for coordinating statewide professional development and consultation services to districts, charter schools and CTCs across Pennsylvania in the implementation of PVAAS for data-informed decision-making. This includes the coordination of statewide training teams, developing services and resources for districts and schools and developing statewide network of IU PVAAS contact at each of the 29 Intermediate Units to build their capacity to support local districts and schools in their use of PVAAS at the district, school and teacher levels.

Kristen is a 2008 alumni from the Educational Policy Fellowship Program. She earned her doctorate from Immaculata University in Educational Leadership, a Master’s in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University, and a Master’s and Bachelor’s from Bloomsburg University in Speech-Language Pathology. In 2006 Kristen wasawarded the National Battelle Pioneer Award for her statewide work with PVAAS implementation. In 2010 Kristen was awarded the PAIU Employee of the Year Award.

In previous roles, Kristen was the Program Director for Data Management Services at Lancaster-Lebanon IU13. Kristen was also an Educational Consultant for the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) in the Central region of the state.

Dr. Cynthia Goldsworthy

Cindy Goldsworthy, Ed. D., is currently an independent educational consultant providing services to schools and education agencies through Evidence to Action: K-12 Consulting Services.

Formerly the Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Derry Township School District, she brings both theory and practical experiences to teams of teachers and administrators on a variety of topics and current issues, including curriculum, assessment, data analysis, leadership, teacher supervision and evaluation, and instruction practices. Other professional experiences include working as a teacher, in general and special education, a master teacher, a Supervisor of Special Education, a Supervisor of Staff Development, Assistant Director of Exceptional Children Services, and Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction Services at Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit.

Cindy Goldsworthy received her undergraduate degree in elementary education and special education from West Virginia University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh, special education supervisory certificate from Shippensburg University, principal certification from Temple University, and her doctorate in educational leadership from Immaculata University. She served as an adjunct instructor for Wilkes University, and is a 2008 alumni of the Education Policy Fellowship Program.
